FAQ
About the product
What is NovaStation?
NovaStation is a guided Windows desktop application for reading crypto markets. It centers on a chart-first workflow with configurable overlays, a transparent on-chart signal engine with the Gate Inspector, Signal Twin and Market Memory historical context, NovaPulse market-awareness alerts, simulated paper trading, and NovaInsights review surfaces — with optional Nova Journey onboarding for new users. It is a market-analysis and decision-support tool — not an exchange, not a broker, and not financial advice.
What is NovaStation Lite?
Lite is the free tier of NovaStation — the same app, running with a smaller set of symbols on the 1D chart preview. The free download also includes a 7-day Premium trial, no card: open it and click Start your 7-day Premium trial to unlock the active 15m / 1h / 4h timeframes, signals, alerts and paper trading for 7 days, after which it reverts to Lite automatically (you are never charged). Download NovaStation to try it.
Lite is intentionally limited. It does NOT include: signals, signal markers, signal labels, signal history, trade indications, entry or exit suggestions, Discord or Telegram or webhook alerts, or paper trading. Lite is intended as a free preview of the chart workspace, not a trading tool.
What is the difference between Lite and Premium?
Lite — Free:
- Limited symbol selection
- 1D chart preview only (15m, 1h, and 4h are Premium)
- Chart-first workspace preview
- Basic market viewing
- No license required
- No signals or buy/sell markers
- No trade indications or signal history
- No Discord, Telegram, or webhook alerts, and no NovaPulse / Daily Pulse alerts
- No paper trading
- No Signal Twin, Market Memory, or NovaInsights
Premium — $14.99 / month:
- Full watchlist with every supported pair
- Active timeframe control — 15m, 1h, 4h charts (plus the 1D preview)
- Multi-timeframe context across the workspace
- On-chart signal engine with the Gate Inspector — markers, labels, history, context

- Signal Twin & Market Memory — similar historical setups, outcome stats, common failure patterns, and Ghost Paths
- NovaPulse Daily Pulse alerts + Discord, Telegram, webhook, desktop, with alert history
- Manual and automatic simulated paper trading
- NovaInsights — signal, alert, and paper-trade history review
- Advanced chart overlays and indicator panels
- Custom settings and watchlist
- Premium access and ongoing email support
Premium is the main NovaStation product. Lite is the free tier, and you can unlock the full workspace with the 7-day Premium trial (no card) before deciding to subscribe.
Does NovaStation Lite show buy/sell signals?
No. NovaStation Lite does not show buy signals, sell signals, signal markers, signal labels, signal history, signal confidence, signal reasons, entry suggestions, exit suggestions, or trade-direction hints of any kind. Lite is a workspace preview — it shows the chart on the 1D preview timeframe with a limited set of symbols, nothing more.
The on-chart signal engine, alert routing, and paper trading are Premium features. You can unlock them with the 7-day Premium trial (no card), or with a Premium subscription — your license key is emailed automatically after Stripe checkout.
What is Signal Twin?
Signal Twin is a Premium feature that compares a live setup against similar historical market conditions so you can see how those setups behaved before. It surfaces similar historical setups, outcome stats, common failure patterns, and optional Ghost Paths on the chart, drawing on the Market Memory library of past setups.
It is historical setup comparison to support your own decisions — not a prediction, not a recommendation, and not financial advice.
What is the Gate Inspector?
The Gate Inspector shows exactly why a setup passed, is waiting, or was blocked. It lists the checks behind every signal — RSI, trend, volume, cooldowns, closed-candle and multi-timeframe confirmation — in plain language, so the signal engine is transparent rather than a black box. You stay in control of which gates are on and how strict each one is. It is part of Premium.
What is NovaPulse?
NovaPulse is NovaStation's market-awareness layer. Daily Pulse alerts surface notable daily moves and qualifying signals across your watchlist, and every alert is kept in an alert history so you can see what changed and when. You can route alerts to Discord, Telegram, a webhook, or the desktop. NovaPulse is informational only — it never places a trade — and is a Premium feature.
What is NovaInsights?
NovaInsights is a review layer that brings your signal history, alert history, and paper-trade history together with setup and gate review — so you can look back at what NovaStation flagged, how each setup resolved, and what you'd weigh differently next time, instead of scrolling raw logs. It is a Premium feature, and your history stays local on your machine.
What is Nova Journey?
Nova Journey is an optional, dismissible in-app onboarding companion. If you're new, it walks you through the NovaStation workflow in plain English — a calm, guided checklist of what to explore next. It never gates a feature or rushes you, and you can minimize it or switch it off at any time.
What platforms does it run on?
NovaStation runs on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The app is delivered through a Windows setup wizard / installer for easier installation. macOS and Linux are not currently supported.

Is NovaStation financial advice?
No. NovaStation is informational software — it shows charts, runs indicators, and surfaces signals. It is not financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or tax advice. We are not registered investment advisers and we do not know your personal situation. Every trading decision and the risk that comes with it remains yours. Read the Risk Disclaimer for the full picture.
Does NovaStation place trades for me?
No. NovaStation has a built-in signal engine that fires on-chart based on the configured indicators and gates, and it can route those signals to optional notification channels (Discord, Telegram, webhook, desktop). It does not connect to an exchange and place real orders on your behalf. There is no auto-execution component and no broker integration. NovaStation is monitoring and analysis software — not a trading bot. Its paper trading is simulated, so no real money is involved.
Which timeframes are supported?
NovaStation Premium gives you active timeframe control across 15m, 1h, 4h, and 1d. Lite includes the 1D chart preview only — the active 15m, 1h, and 4h timeframes unlock with the 7-day Premium trial or a subscription. You can switch freely between all four once unlocked.
Are lower timeframes noisier?
Yes — the active lower timeframes such as 15m react faster to market movement, but they also tend to produce noisier signals than higher timeframes. For cleaner signal context, 1h and 4h are generally recommended. These active timeframes (15m, 1h, 4h) are part of Premium; Lite shows the 1D preview. The right choice depends on the symbols you watch and your own style; the workspace lets you switch freely once unlocked.
Can I change the signal strategy?
Yes. NovaStation includes multiple strategy modes built for different styles. Core Strategy is the beginner-friendly default, Momentum Strategy follows faster moves using volume or volatility confirmation, Swing Strategy focuses on cleaner higher-timeframe trend continuation, Breakout Strategy looks for fresh volume and volatility expansion, and Defense Strategy is the most selective, reducing weak signals during choppy conditions. You can also create a Custom Strategy by adjusting the advanced settings. Core Strategy is the recommended default for most users. Strategies adjust signal filters, risk settings, and paper-trading defaults — they do not guarantee results.
What is Custom Strategy?
Custom Strategy lets you start from any strategy and adjust the settings yourself. If you edit a strategy-controlled value, NovaStation switches you to Custom Strategy while preserving your changes — and it remembers which strategy you started from, so the workspace can show “Custom — based on Core.”
Trial, Lite & subscription
How do I start the 7-day trial?
Download NovaStation, open the desktop app, and start the 7-day Premium trial from inside the app. The trial is app-managed and does not require Stripe Checkout — no card needed.
Is the trial handled by Stripe?
No. Stripe Checkout is used for the Premium subscription. The 7-day trial is handled inside the NovaStation desktop app.
Do I need a card to try NovaStation?
No. Lite is available without Premium, and the app-managed 7-day trial does not require a card.
Can I still use Lite without Premium?
Yes. Lite remains available without Premium. It includes basic, free chart access with the 1D preview only. Premium systems — signals, NovaPulse alerts, scanner features, Signal Twin, NovaInsights, and paper trading — remain locked until you start the trial or subscribe.
What happens when the app trial ends?
Premium features lock unless you subscribe. Lite remains available, so you are not locked out of the app — the chart keeps working and your settings stay put.
What happens if I cancel Premium?
Premium remains active through the current billing period. After that, NovaStation returns to Lite. Subscription payments are non-refundable — see the Refunds & cancellation policy.
How much does NovaStation cost?
$14.99 / month USD, billed monthly through Stripe. Cancel anytime from your Stripe receipt or the billing portal. Lite is free, with no card and no expiry.
What payment methods do you accept?
Checkout is handled by Stripe, which accepts credit and debit cards and most regional alternatives. Stripe handles all payment data; we never see your card details.
How do I cancel?
Open the self-service portal link in any Stripe receipt email and click Cancel subscription, or email novastationsupport@gmail.com and we will cancel from our side. Access continues through the end of the current paid billing period, after which the app returns to Lite. Subscription payments themselves are non-refundable — see Refunds & cancellation for the full policy.
Can I get a refund?
NovaStation subscriptions are non-refundable. You can cancel anytime to stop future billing, and your access remains active through the end of your current paid billing period. Please review the Lite preview, the feature list, and the risk disclaimer before subscribing. The full policy lives on the Refunds & cancellation page.
Does NovaStation lock me out completely after the trial?
No. Only Premium features lock. Lite remains available — the app keeps launching, the chart keeps working, and your settings stay put. There is no full-app lockout.
Do I need Python, Inno Setup, or developer tools to run NovaStation?
No. NovaStation ships as a standard Windows setup installer. You download the installer, run it through the wizard, and launch NovaStation from the Start menu like any other Windows app. You do not need Python, PyInstaller, Inno Setup, command-line tools, or any source code on your machine.
Premium license & activation
How do I receive my Premium license key?
After Premium checkout is completed through Stripe, NovaStation automatically emails your NSP license key to the email used during checkout. Open NovaStation, choose Subscribe / Activate, and enter that checkout email and your NSP license key to unlock Premium. See the full activation guide.
What email is the license sent to?
The license is sent to the email entered during Stripe Checkout. Use that same email when activating Premium inside NovaStation.
How long does it take to get my license after checkout?
Your license key email is sent automatically as soon as Stripe confirms checkout, usually within a few minutes. You can keep using NovaStation in Lite — or the 7-day Premium trial — while you wait, then activate Premium the moment your key arrives.
Do I need to send a machine code?
No. Normal activation does not require a manual machine-code exchange. Enter your checkout email and NSP license key inside NovaStation, and the app handles activation automatically.
What if I do not receive the license email?
Check spam, promotions, and filtered inbox tabs first. If it still has not arrived, you don't have to wait for us: sign in to My Account with your checkout email and you can reveal your license key on screen, or re-send the email to yourself. A re-send delivers the same key — it never issues a new one. Lite remains available throughout, and novastationsupport@gmail.com is there if you're still stuck.
How many devices can I activate?
NovaStation Premium supports up to 3 activated devices. The same device can reverify without using another activation slot, so reinstalling or restarting doesn't cost you one. You can see how many slots are in use in My Account.
Freeing up a slot is not self-service yet — if you reach the limit, email novastationsupport@gmail.com from your checkout address and we will release one for you.
Can I move NovaStation to a different machine?
Yes. Install NovaStation on the new machine and activate Premium with your checkout email and NSP license key — there is nothing to transfer by hand. If that puts you over the 3-device limit, email novastationsupport@gmail.com from your checkout address and we will free up a slot.
Is my license checked online?
Yes, for paid Premium. Activation is validated against NovaStation's licensing server, and while Premium is active the app re-checks periodically (at most about once a day) so that a cancelled or lapsed subscription stops granting Premium. What it sends is your license key, a hashed device identifier, and your operating-system name — not your computer name, username, MAC address, or any trading data. The Privacy Policy spells out exactly what is sent and stored.
The 7-day trial is different: it is handled entirely by the app on your own computer and sends us nothing.
What should I do if Windows shows a warning when I run the .exe?
NovaStation is not currently code-signed (code-signing certificates are expensive for an indie project), so Windows SmartScreen may show an "unverified publisher" or "Windows protected your PC" warning the first time the file runs. Click More info > Run anyway. Always download NovaStation from the official download page on this site — never from a third-party mirror or forwarded link.
What if I need help after purchase?
One support address handles everything — activation, billing, install, and bug reports — at novastationsupport@gmail.com. Email from your checkout address with a clear description and any error message; replies usually arrive within a business day.
Data, privacy & security
Does NovaStation store my trading data?
The desktop app stores trading-adjacent data locally on your machine — paper-trade ledger, signal history, settings, watchlist. That data never leaves your computer. We do not collect, transmit, or analyze your trading activity. See the Privacy Policy.
What about exchange API keys / webhooks I configure?
Anything you paste into NovaStation — Discord webhook URLs, Telegram bot tokens, third-party webhooks — is stored locally on your machine in the app's settings file. The desktop app uses them to talk directly to those services. Nothing is routed through us.
Is the .exe signed?
No — NovaStation is not code-signed yet, so Windows may warn you the first time you run it (see the question above for what to click). Because it is unsigned, we publish the installer's SHA-256 so you can confirm the file is genuine — verify your download.
Is NovaStation a finished product?
NovaStation is a real, paid product that is also actively being improved. New .exe versions ship while your subscription is active, and the support address handles bug reports directly. If something is unclear or unexpected, contact novastationsupport@gmail.com so it can be reviewed.
Still stuck?
Email novastationsupport@gmail.com with a screenshot of the issue, the exact step where it happened, and any error message. We usually reply within a business day.
